Biographical / Historical

A graduate of Mississippi State College for Women, Miss Mulloy (1924-2018) lived for many years in New Orleans working in the advertising field. Later she earned a Master Degree in Library and Information Science at Louisiana State University. After working several years as a professional librarian in New Orleans, Miss Mulloy returned to Laurel and accepted a position as librarian at the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art. She remained actively involved in retirement, serving as a member of the museum board and a member of the Laurel Arts League. Miss Mulloy also served several terms on the Board of Trustees of the Laurel-Jones County Library.

An avid reader with a keen interest and enthusiasm for travel, Miss Mulloy combined the two by visiting places mentioned in favorite novels and histories. She made many trips to England and Europe and spent most summers in Highlands, North Carolina, accompanied by friends and relatives.
