Log book maintained by Hamer Ogden, Superintendent of Methodist Hospital, from 1921 to 1958. It contains a brief summary of the business of the hospital for each fiscal year beginning in 1922 and ending in 1958. Data includes gross earnings, operating expenses, cash receipts, cash disbursements, cash in bank, accounts payable, free/unpaid work, deaths, births, average daily patients, cost per patient per day, average stay per patient, total operations, students in training, as well as other information.
The log also contains a list of funds given to the Mississippi Methodist Annual Conference each year. The total for the timespan of the log is over $1,000,000.
Mr. Ogden was hired by a member of the Tatum family, possibly Frank. His first day on the job was November 1, 1921.
