Biographical / Historical

Jonathan Puckett earned his bachelor's degrees in English and history from USM in May 2020. He excelled as a student worker for Historical Manuscripts in Special Collections at The University of Southern Mississippi's University Libraries. He processed many collections and left an indelible mark.

As a Carlson Fellow, he is attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and will finish his M.S. in library and information science through the archives and special collections pathway in August 2021. He is currently a Graduate Assistant at the Rare Book & Manuscript Library.

Immediately following graduation, he will enter the Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmistsburg, Maryland. He will persue a duel degree program [Master of Divinity/Master of Arts in Theology] towards ordination (2021-2027).

Puckett has an impressive list of academic achievements:
