Abstract

Patrick Mahony was born February 11, 1911 in London, England. He moved to the United States as a child and lived much of his life in California. In addition to being an author and lecturer, Mahony was a literary assistant to both Nobel Prize winner Maurice Maeterlinck and English-Irish poet and Fantasy writer Lord Dunsany. Mahony said that, as an author, his central inspiration as a writer was the country of Ireland. His own writing sometimes involved issues of psychic phenomena and occult study.
