Scope and Contents
The Papers of Reverend Thomas Castleman, II, contain sermons and lectures over the course of several decades. The collection is from the 1800s which includes twenty-five undated sermons, thirty-seven before the 1850s, and twenty-three are in the 1850s. Additionally, it includes a brief family genealogy. Although some sermon booklets are either damaged or missing pages, one can still view the sermons and obtain the general overview of each message.

Biographical / Historical
Sermons of Reverend Thomas Castleman, II, an Episcopalian minister in Louisiana and possibly also in Mississippi during the 1850s and 1860s. Reverend Castleman was a traveling minister. He travelled to places such as Kankakee, Illinois, and St. John’s Lunenburg.

The Castleman Papers collection consist of a brief genealogy record and sermons from Reverend Thomas Castleman, II.
Arrangement
The materials in the collection did not receive significant arrangement. The first folder is the genealogy records. Behind the genealogy folder are the forty-six sermons. Lastly there are three lectures and a hand written note.
