Biographical / Historical
The Mississippi Normal College was founded as a state-supported teachers’ training school on March 30, 1910 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The name of the institution changed to the State Teachers College (STC) on March 7, 1924.

Abstract
The James and Patsy Causey Photographs collection contains five black-and-white photographs of the State Teacher’s College in Hattiesburg, Mississippi from the 1920s. The collection would be of particular interest to researchers studying the history of the University of Southern Mississippi, college life in the early twentieth century, and / or education.
