Biographical / Historical

Wesley James Ellzey served as a school teacher in Pike County, Mississippi and eventually went on to serve as a Justice of the Peace during the late 1870s and early 1880s. Ellzey was born May 28, 1830, and died May 1, 1918. His parents were Thomas Ellzey and Mary L. Quin. Ellzey’s sister, C. A. Lany, corresponded with him during the mid-1880s from Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
