The Papers contains typed manuscripts, a corrected typescript, correspondence, author notes, and miscellaneous publications and materials pertaining to Swinford’s writing. Titles are arranged alphabetically within series.

Biographical / Historical
Born June 21, 1927 in Indiana, Betty June Swinford hoped to be an author from a young age. She professed her dedication to Christianity in the 1940s and focused her writing efforts on evangelical literature for young people. Later in her career, she wrote for adults as well. Swinford wrote over one thousand short stories and one hundred books in her lifetime. Spending much of her adult life in Arizona and Flagstaff, Swinford enjoyed outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and camping with her husband, two daughters, and son. Swinford died on October 24, 2007.
