Biographical / Historical

Anna Maria Ahl (1926-) illustrated multiple books such as I’m On the Move, Towards What? (1970), I’m Free, For What? (1970), and The Partners (1972). She is a Sister of the Sisters of Charity, a Catholic group. Her work preference is with dry media, but for production reasons she uses pen and ink, or felt tip markers. She has illustrated a book in full color only once that was titled Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (1971), which was a series of inspirational quotes not intended for children. She has done many full-color greeting cards for Abby Press. Her current work in progress is illustrating a series of books in religious education for use with hearing-impaired children, including a First Communion book based on bible history by Mary Dugan.
