This collection consists of one video of what appears to be the Freedom Day protests of January 22, 1964 that occurred for voter registration outside of the courthouse in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The Hattiesburg Civil Rights Film is of particular interest to researchers studying the Civil Rights Movement, Mississippi, and Hattiesburg.
This collection contains clippings, correspondence, memorabilia, menus, invitations, media, scrapbooks, photographs, speeches and planning materials for The Mystic Krewe of Zeus. The materials primarily date 1924-2020.
The collection contains testimonies, articles, press releases, and documents on various aspects of Mississippi during the Hurricane Katrina disaster and the years of struggle for recovery on the Mississippi gulf coast. These materials were compiled by University of Southern Mississippi History Professor, James "Pat" Smith, in creating his book Hurricane Katrina: the Mississippi Story.
