This document is a requisition from Colonel Maxcy Gregg of the 1st Regiment of South Carolina Volunteers to Colonel Edward Manigault, Chief of Ordnance Department. It was written from headquarters on Sullivan's Island in Charleston Harbor on February 8, 1861. Colonel Gregg was requesting 40,000 musket cartridges and 40,000 percussion caps for his regiment.
