United States -- Politics and government -- 1961-1963.
Found in 2 Collections and/or Records:
An unsigned, one-page letter to U.S. Attorney General Robert F. “Bob” Kennedy from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. It appears that a local white woman wrote the letter. The letter describes the Freedom Riders and other civil rights activists negatively and criticizes the federal government for interfering in the Southern way of life.
This collection should be of interest to researchers of the 1960s civil rights movement, the political climate of the 1960s, the history of Alabama, or the political posture of George C. Wallace.
