AM16-55, circa mid-1950s
One of the early uniforms worn by the Dixie Darlings. Freddie Taylor was able to keep this uniform because they were being changed for the next year. She kept it safe in her coastal home through Hurricane Camille. It was found in the rubble of her home after Hurricane Katrina by her son. It was in a zippered suit bag, unharmed, even though her home was destroyed.
The uniform is black velvet with rhinestones lining the v-shaped neckline.

One of the early letterman sweaters worn by the Dixie Darlings. It is black with a gold “M” on the front left side. “DIXIE DARLINGS” is written in black thread in the center of the “M”. This was worn when the University of Southern Mississippi was Mississippi Southern College.
