This collection contains articles, pamphlets, paper currency, newspapers, images and other materials pertaining to the Civil War and its Centennial celebration. The collection also contains a few items regarding the Battle of Yorktown, Virginia, during the Revolutionary War.

Jim Minn World War II Memories
Jim Minn was a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at The University of Southern Mississippi. The Collection contains an audio cassette and typed notes of his memories as a scout in the First Platoon of “D” Dog Troop in the 94th Recon of the 14th Armored Division in France and Germany during World War II. The tape was recorded on May 31, 1999.

The Robber Bridegroom Poster
The Robber Bridegroom Poster Collection consists of a poster from Lemuria Bookstore commemorating an illustrated, forty-fifth anniversary edition of Eudora Welty’s novella, The Robber Bridegroom (1942), which is signed by the illustrator Barry Moser. This collection is of particular interest to researchers studying American literature, Mississippi authors, Eudora Welty, and Barry Moser.

This is a collection of documents collected by Ernest A. Walen of Longmeadow, Massachusetts. The collection contains original letters, orders, printed material, official documents, photographs, newspaper clippings, prints, etc. covering the 19th Century with an emphasis on American Civil War materials and some 20th Century materials concerning the Civil War. Most of the material on the Civil War concerns the Confederacy, with some Federal documents included.
